The Blue star program introduces students to the European Union (EU), what it means and how it works.  The goal of the program is to foster a strong sense of citizenship among participants.  There are four key elements to the Blue star program which include historical, geographical, cultural and creative and instructional. In addition to students engaging in these key elements students will have a visit from Maria Walsh the MEP for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal and all students and staff will host a Europe Day on the 9th May. This will involve all students being divided into groups and assigned a European country.  Each group will create posters for their country, wear traditional clothes and make traditional dishes from that country for other students, staff and parents to sample.
